Google has launched a test version of the Chrome OS, its much-awaited and delayed internet-centric operating system that analysts say could make the personal computer cheaper by up to 25% in India.

Chrome OS is essentially a free software, says Sundar Pichai, vice-president for product management at Google, and one of the two leaders of a team that developed the new software. Pichai, an lumunus of IIT Kharagpur and played a major part in launch of chrome os said, we are delivering nothing but the web during demonstartion of Google Chrome os at the launch .

During the launch of OS, he shows how the OS work without storing applications and data on computer rather than on cloud which makes it different from other OS’s.

  • 3-G Enabled
  • Booting time is less than 60 seconds

  • As based on cloud even if you lose your computer, you can log in from another chrome installed computer and get your all data .
  • Computer will work without having any hard disk in it .
  • Simply faster, more secure

Here is the view of google chrome OS, what so unique ?

It’s just look same as chrome browser as there is nothing in it except browser .

For me , this gives a direct competition to microsoft in computers. After getting huge success from Android – Mobile phone based OS . We surely should keep expectations from it , isn’t it ?
