BSNL launched Bharat Air Fibre services in Maharashtra

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Sunday announced the expansion of its Bharat Air Fiber Services to Maharashtra’s Akola and Washim districts.

The state-owned telecom operator said that it had introduced the service, as part of Digital India initiatives and aims at providing wireless broadband  connectivity in the range of 20KMs from BSNL locations, which will benefit citizens residing in remote areas  of Maharashtra.

The service was inaugurated by Sanjay Dhotre, Union Minister for Electronics, Communication, and IT. He said “The technology will help in connecting people of even the remote places of Akola and Washim district through high-speed internet highway. This will further boost economic growth and job potential besides facilitating government initiatives such as direct beneficiary transfer programme,”

BSNL will provide the Bharat Air Fibre Services through local business partners. The state-run Telco will also offer free voice calling along with Bharat Air Fibre connectivity with data speeds of upto 100 Mbps.

The Bharat Air Fibre Services also aims at giving a push to the PM Modi’s call for a ‘self-reliant India’ or ‘Atma Nirbhar India’ as the state-run telco said will provide monthly income of Rs 1 lakh to the local residents who enroll as Telecom Infrastructure Partner.

“WIth the launch of Wireless Bharat Air Fibre, more connections will be provided on demand in very quick time. BSNL appeals to all residents of Akola & Washim District to avail these quality & most affordable services,” said BSNL.

As far as the Bharat Air Fibre service is concerned, it comes at a starting price of ₹499 and it provides wireless telecom connectivity in area up to 5KM range from nearest exchange on Radio Network.

It offers high-speed wireless broadband connectivity up to a speed of 100 Mbps in the 5KM range. It also connects the customers beyond the 5KM range but with a reduced internet speed.
